I do believe that there’s no place for executions in a civilized society. However, the real question this documentary raises, though I’d venture not intentionally, is whether we truly live in a “civilized society”. A second question raised is, “Can a truly civilized society remain so if it refuses to treat the uncivilized and animal elements appropriately?”
I’m certain that many would agree that this is not the world we would wish for anyone, but it is a sad and tragic fact that this is the world we have. Not all animals have fur and claws, some wear suits and have nicely trimmed fingernails, but they are animals none-the-less.
In a civilized society, these questions wouldn’t exist, but in the world as it is today, they do.
